The point, you remember, is that everyone has a network and anyone you network with is going to have a network that is different to yours.
The governing rule, therefore, for applying selectivity to your network is never to network with anyone who doesn’t pass your selection test. Your selection test in this case is the lifelong interview, except this time it’s you who’s sitting in the interviewer’s seat.
