Outlines of Indian philosophy by M. Hiriyanna PDF

The current paintings relies upon the lectures which Prof. Hiriyanna added for a few years on the Mysore collage. Its greatest target has been to offer a hooked up and as far as attainable in the limits of a unmarried quantity a entire account of the topic. Indian suggestion is taken into account intimately in 3 elements facing the Vedic interval, the early post-Vedic interval and the age of the platforms.

In this the low-density rocks responsible for the pronounced gravity low at about 25 km (Fig. 6B) (the Newark anomaly) could be interpreted as a concealed granite of probable Caledonian age, or a basin of early Carboniferous/Devonian sediments. For reasons given later in this chapter the granite model is preferred, but the gravity profile can be explained by many alternative models. Some of these are shown in Fig. 64 Mg/m 3 , produce calculated profiles that are more difficult to reconcile with the observed data.

Some processing was also carried out on a main frame computer and the results were transferred to the lAS, notably the calculation of the reduced to pole magnetics and stripped gravity. Quantitative interpretation of the geophysical data in terms of geological models was carried out mainly using a PERQ workstation (ICL) at BGS, Keyworth. 1 Geophysical characteristics of mineralised areas REGIONAL GEOPHYSICAL SuRVEYs Past applications of regional geophysical surveys to the exploration for economic base-metal mineralisation has often been based on the correlation between granitic bodies indicated by Bouguer gravity anomaly lows and observed epigenetic mineral zonation.

Gravity data indicate possible N -S lineaments (Fig. 4. 21) at the margins of the Derbyshire 'Dome'. Lineaments of WNW -ESE trend Lineaments with ESE trends are most apparent in the SW and S of the area and include the Grantham lineament, which extends across the study region from the Derbyshire 'Dome' to The Wash (cf. Plate 8c). This structure appears to mark a general change in the character of the magnetic map, dividing an area to the south of complex and high-intensity anomalies from one to the north with longer-wavelength anomalies due to more deep-seated magnetic bodies.
