The next year, the law was amended to include officers as well. S. Army. The standards for awarding the Medal of Honor for service during the Civil War are different from those that exist today. Many Civil War Medals of Honor were awarded for capturing the enemy’s flag or banner and for saving one’s own flag from capture by the enemy.
Noticeably awestruck, Comyns-Carr left a detailed account of the conversations she shared with Palmer.
