Attilio Ferrari i need to bear in mind right here the elemental issues I raised in the beginning of the Workshop because the major objectives of dialogue (in the identify of the medical Committee). i tried to concentration the eye of members at the proven fact that, sometimes, we have a tendency to speak about jets by way of basic physics, kind of as one did on the time extragalactic radio resources have been stumbled on: for example, we nonetheless use equipartition arguments. even though, we needs to observe that methods in jets, resulting in their morphologies and energetics truly rely on complicated plasma phenomena. accordingly, an analogous usual arguments used to derive attribute parameters may be wondered; the various audio system have been invited to aim a serious research of this aspect, an~ actually i think that this "inquisitive angle" used to be really current all alongside the Workshop. Observers have been requested to settle on the parameters for use in a statistical pattern of jets. For this they have been instructed, firstly, to tell apart among basic and secondary beneficial properties. for example, are knots and wiggles universal to all jets? Are relativistic movement velocities anticipated in all lively nuclei? Are jets denser or lighter than the exterior medium? at the theoretical aspect I requested to debate even if latest versions are based on the restricted statistical pattern that we have got this present day. And which may be the traces of improvement to be pursued first, and to what extent.

7. Magnetic Field Alignment: New data has not materially changed the earlier results on the alignment of the magnetic field in radio jets (Bridle 1982). The field directions in the most luminous sources are parallel to the jet axis. The field direction even appears to follow wiggles in the jet directions. For the lower luminosity sources the field in the dominant jet is parallel to the axis near the galaxy but then flips to perpendicular. Near the edge of the jet, however, the field remains parallel to the jet axis.
